New Kit at All Things Paper

Today I can reveal my new kit at All Things Paper. This kit is INCREDIBLE...there are so many embellishments I didn't know where to start! There is a whole 12 x 12 sheet of chipboard designs, a full set of layered stickers as well as a sheet of washi tape, stickers and even some seriously cute birthday themed picks with flags and party hats! Everything is from the fabulous Party Day range by one of my all time favourite brands - Crate Paper. The papers work well for both male and female designs.

 

 I have made a double layout and three singles. The kit comes with full colour instructions for all the layouts and you will have plenty of materials left over to keep on creating with your own designs. All Things Paper

I am excited to announce that I will be designing kits and layouts for the team at All Things Paper. All Things Paper is a great online store in Perth, run by Vanessa and Jodie. Not only do they have some beautiful stock including some of my favorite paper brands but they also run regular classes, crops and retreats.

I first met Vanessa a few months ago at the Perth Craft Fair and I was immediately struck by their amazing kits!!The kits feature the latest papers and embellishments, and have a simple elegant style to them that has broad appeal. All the kits come with detailed step by step colour instructions, and any punching, die cutting etc is already done for you! Kits vary in price depending n what is included in them and new kits come out almost every week!!

Back in the Saddle

Hello again.....remember me? I t has been a long time since I did anything in my little corner of the web...but I have decided that it is time to get back in the saddle again and dig out my trimmer, dust of the double sided tape and get my fingers inky again.  What with selling the shop and moving to Perth it has been over 6 months since I have scrapped! Add to that the loss of my expansive scrap space ( I am now relegated to some book cases in the garage) and it is no wonder that not much creating has been going in. But that is about to change... I have some exciting news which I can share soon and I am really enjoying the creative process again. I have heaps of projects to start AND finish so I intend to spend a lot more time here again sharing all things creative! Anyways keep you eyes out for some new layouts...and some news really soon!

Basic Grey Page of The Month July

I just couldn't resist changing up the layout for this month's kit!!! The kit contains some of the most gorgeous buttons I have ever seen as well as some great felt embellishments. I am in love with the Paper Cottage range of paper and think that I may need even more!

New and Noteworthy

There have been plenty of new and exciting things happening in the crafty world this week so I have heaps to share!!

First up is this super cute pop up house card. I could see plenty of little girls falling in love with this!be warned however, that the instructions are in Italian, but there are great pictures so it shouldn't be too hard to follow.

There is also a great tutorial on the Spellbinders blog using their brand new Background Dies. I love the  simplicity of the black and white colour scheme

Washi Tape is everywhere at the moment!! I spotted this great set of quick and easy ways to use the tape on Laura Craigie's blog. These ideas are so simple I can't believe I haven't tried them already...only prblem is now I want more washi tape!

This week Simple Stories announced a new brand  within their ranges - Snap. There is a huge range of and small albums with a range of different sizes page protectors to make creating whole books a breeze! I am in love with almost everything her...now I just have to wait until October for it to come out!!!

CHA is just about to kick off in the States so there should be plenty of news and great ideas over the next few days...I have stared a board on pinterest  where I am tracking  all the gorgeous new stuff that I "need". So far my favourites are from Simple Stories, American Crafts and Studio Calico, but I am still waiting to see what is on offer from October Afternoon.

ATC and Scrapbooking Classes

With all the rain I have been hard pressed to find enough sunshine to take some images of my upcoming classes. The first images are from a new Mixed Media Layout class I am teaching at Paper Trenz. This is a class full of techniques so you will go home with not only inky hands but lots of extra skills and product knowledge

And these are the ATCs I am teaching on Tuesday night. The theme for this month is fabric and we always welcome new participants.

New and Noteworthy

A few people have asked me if I would start doing a round up of crafty and scrappy things that I find, like and love. As I seem to spend more and more time getting lost online I thought that I may as well share some of the great ideas and news that I come across ( and hopefully feel a little less guilty about the lost hours!) The idea is to do the update weekly, and at this stage I plan on doing it every Monday..so sit back grab a cuppa and have a look at what is new in the Crafty world this week

1. CHA Sneek Peeks

 It isn't long now until Summer CHA, and many of the major Scrapbook companies have started to reveal their new ranges online. As I am obviously no longer going to the show the next best thing is checking everything out online..and then calling the bank manager for a new overdraft! Some of my favorites so far are

Persnickety by Lilly Bee Designs
I really like this new collection, (and to be honest the name too!) There are lots of strong graphics and fabulous colours. There are plenty of embellishments too that are calling my name.

My Minds Eye - The Sweetest thing
Ok... I pretty much love everything in this collection, and given that it is by MME it is a BIG range. Top of my list are the doily stamps and the tape.

Tim Holtz Sizzix Dies 
In case you have been hiding under a rock...Tim Holtz has been previewing his new releases... There are about 6 new dies that are already on my must have list.

2   Double stamping with Perfect Pearls and Distress inks 

I came upon this great tutorial by Wendy Vecchi on the Ranger Blog. I love the depth that the technique achieves and I love finding new ways to use my Perfect Pearls stash.

3.   Mini Journal Tutorial

 The girls at One Lucky Day have an awesome tutorial for using notecards to make mini journals. They have recently left 7 Gypsies and are now part of Team Holtz and have used the new District Market Notecards for their project. Even if you aren't interested in the tutorial I highly recommend stopping by as there are some great images of the new Ideology stuff coming out including a very lust-worthy mini lantern.

4.   New Online Class. 

 Donna Downey this week announced a new online workshop called Internationally Inspired. There are an amazing group of designers including Anna Dabrowska, Cari Fennell, Nathalie Kalbach, Birgitta Koopsen and of course Donna. Each designer has their own style and spin on things so it should be an interesting course especially for those wanting to experiment more in the mixed media side of things.

Perfect Pearls ATC

Can you believe it - two post in a row!!! Spent a busy day yesterday playing with Perfect Pearls for my ATC class tonight. There are sooo many different ways to use the pearls. I could have made at least a dozen other cards with different techniques but tried to focus on some more unusual things to try...

Back again...with classes

After promising to blog more after selling the shop I have completely failed and not even posted once. It has however taken me this long to start to get some semblance of order at home again and I am still only halfway through sorting out the mess that I rather ambitiously call my craft space  at the moment!!

Two Plus One - Create a Double and a Single Layout in One CLass This time we Show you How to convert a Double Layout into a Single...or How to turn a Single into a Double!!! I have used a Scrapbook Generation sketch as a starting point and used the Basic Grey PB&J range for the double and Simple Stories for the Single

 

The other Class I am teaching this week is One Sketch Two Ways In this class we will show you how to take one sketch and use it to make very different layouts. I really enjoyed outting these layout together as they incorporate two of my favourite things at the moment.Chevrons and Patchwork!!

 I am off now to put together some ATCs for the ATC class this week ..plenty of Perfect Pearls.hopefully I will get them done in time to post up here

doors opening and closing and all that

well today is my last day as the owner of Stamp and Scrapbook Madness. It really is a happy/sad kind of day as I will really miss the store - particularly the customers as I feel like I know many of them better than I know my friends. It has been a wonderful but exhausting experience and I am not quite sure how it will feel tomorrow when Iwake up and it isn't my "baby" anymore!!
But at the same time it is a huge relief as it means that we can move on with the next adventure in life... and I am sure the kids will be pleased to actually see me a little more often!!!

I also plan to spend a little more time here blogging - particularly keeping an eye on what is new , brilliant ( and not so brilliant) in the crafty world!!!

But really today all I want to do is thank everyone for supporting me and the store and allowing me to be a partner in their creative journey - Happy Crafting!

A little late - but here is some more of what I spotted at the show

Tim Holtz has some great new dies...the new mannequin die is already a favourite and here Tim shows how you can combine it with the bird cage die for a steampunk look.


This is another Tim Holtz project. The layout features his new clock die and new lettering in the grungeboard range

I always spend a fortune at Penny Black. The technique sand effects on these cards are amazing.

I am really excited to start stocking these punches from McGill...they make it so easy to make stunning flowers!

And there was just tooo much to love at Hero Arts...I will be using this fabulous technique in a class very soon!!!

CHA Day 2

After a super early start today with a Class at 7am using the Teresa Collins Stampmaker...really exciting tool that I think will have to go on my shopping list - I am finally back from a day at the show and trying to sort through all the catalogues to start putting some more orders together


I didn't manage to get as many photos today but will make sure I make up with some more tomorrow.

CHA DAY 1

Day 1 is already over and I feel like I have only just scratched the surface. There is sooo mjuch great stuff on show and so much creative inspiration. I also spent some time at Basic Grey and am considering ordering their montly layout program. I know a number of you participated in this with Scrapbook City before they closed.
